The Isle of Wight Sunday Fun Club presents... participation in the 25th annual Walk the Wight (first leg only) followed by a sustained 'sit in' and Newport's 7th finest Public House (*Source - Trip Advisor).
The walk, approximately 12 miles (4-5 hours Owen Taylor pace & including a lunch stop - I know this place with a truly spectacular vista, not too far off the beaten track), will be in aid of fundraising for The Peter Westropp Memorial Trust.
Participants will be issued with PWMT logo clothing if so desired. Pricing also to follow. The second chapter will be the dual celebration of not just an expedition successfully ventured, but also the 30th Birthday milestone of our very own Benjamin Darroll. Suitable sustenance and entertainment are being arranged with my main man Huey, who rarely fails to impress. There will no doubt be more information drip fed as deets are firmed up.
At this stage, the only necessities are as follows;
- Advise the vicar at your local parish that you'll be unable to attend mass on Sunday the 10th May.
- Pre empting 'a quiet night', utilise 8.5 hours of your annual leave allowance for the Monday.
- Start thinking about who you will approach for sponsorship. This will be incentivised with prizes which may or may not include signed Operators merchandise.
- Start ramping up fitness levels. This is no easy feat, the steady increase of Sunday rambles and 'walks in the park' are encouraged leading up to the event.
I sincerely hope you can all be involved in what i am confident will be a day to remember, or not as the 'suit'case may be.
Yours in excitement, Sunday Fun Club. x
