On Friday 28 June, a team of 6 Strong Men from BNP Paribas Real Estate are set to take on what has been (un)officially dubbed 'The Surrey Ironman'.
Whilst several variations of the Ironman see competitors surf, cycle, paddle and run their way to victory, this form of the competition will see 6 (mostly) willing and able young men drive, chip and putt their way to golfing immortality. The challenge - 4 rounds of golf in 1 day. To be more precise, that is 72 holes in 24 hours.
The astronomic phenomenon of night and day means that 72 holes must be completed in an estimated 16 hours and 36 minutes of natural light, thus maintaining rounds of just over 4 hours will be necessary (and exhausting). Expect to see some interesting scorecards. Tee off is at 5.00am. No buggies, trolleys or caddies will be permitted although a diet coke runner may be required to keep Jeffs in the game.
Whilst mere completion would be an accolade in itself, we are hoping to raise as much money as possible for the Peter Westropp Trust.
All donations would be gratefully received towards a great cause.
