On Saturday 2nd February, 2013, 27 brave souls faced chilly conditions and the prospect of a 0-0 draw with Stoke at the Emirates Stadium courtesy of Arsenal FC.
The club's CEO, Ivan Gazidis, read about Peter in a newspaper - the accompanying photo of Peter at the Neu Camp with Arsenal scarf aloft. He promptly offered us a box at the Emirates for an Arsenal game of our choice.
With their tedious resolve and airial bombardment via Rory De Lap one fixture suggested itself above the rest - Stoke City. Fortunately De Lap was loaned out to Barnsley hours before kick off, but spirits remained high as we congregated at Ted Westropp's Finsbury Park pad for an exceptionally tastey batch of home made Scotch Eggs.
Upon arrival at the Emirates we paid our respects to the big man, without whom none of us would have been there - goalkeeping powerhouse David Seaman. Peter's stone (laid outside 'the Armoury' for future visitors) was the rendez-vous for a communal photo call.
The 'Box 15' then parted company with Hoi Poloi, making for their seats adjacent to Chris Martin from Coldplay, textbook. Whilst the game wasn't fantastic, the day certainly was and the gooners among us remained buoyant in the knowledge of 3 points secured via Lukas Podolski's deflected free kick.
Many thanks to everyone at Arsenal FC for a fantastic day, especially Karen who was our main liaison pre-match, and Jacky who was sporting enough to get involved in the half-time Suitcase!
